Indira Amladi CFA, an investor since 1994, has a 24 year track record of investing.
Ms. Amladi's investment philosophy can be summarized as a combination of Benjamin Graham's (often called the Father of Investing, author of "Security Analysis") faith in deep value plus Warren Buffet's (CEO of Berkshire Hathaway) faith in high quality companies.
In addition to holding the CFA Charter (awarded by the CFA Institute), Ms. Amladi holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry, as well as an MBA in Marketing and Finance, both graduate degrees obtained on fully paid University-scholarships. She has accumulated 17 year corporate experience at Fortune 100 companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Procter and Gamble and Kraft Foods and has received training in Value Investing from Columbia Business School.
Previously, Ms. Amladi has also analyzed & provided valuations for 10 large cap consumer companies as consultant sell-side researcher for client Deutsche Bank at New York, NY (10/2009 to 4/2010). Prior to this role, she has held several leadership positions such as new product innovation and commercialization for Post Foods, Parsippany, NJ (1/2009 10/2009); Director of Marketing as a consultant for Value Investor Media, Vienna, VA (1/2008 to 1/2009); Portfolio Manager for SIGMA and consultant for Unilever at Trumbull CT (7/04 to 1/2008); Associate Director Market Research/Oral Health Category, Johnson & Johnson PPC, Skillman, NJ (6/02 to 7/04); Market Research Manager for Kraft Foods, Glenview, IL (9/00 to 5/02); and Market Research Supervisor for the Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati, OH. (6/93-5/98), where she co-led volume forecast model-development and supervised the market research, development and growth-commercialization for several consumer brands such as Jif, Folgers, Old Spice, Sure and Secret.
Additionally, as Associate Director at Johnson & Johnson 2002-2004, Ms. Amladi analyzed and recommended candidates for acquisition or merger, and pioneered Best Practice Innovation Processes at the company. Subsequently, she was invited to be a key speaker at the Product Development Management Association. While at Johnson and Johnson, she provided consultation to the Personal Products Companies’ Board regarding consumer insights, volume forecasting and commercialization of new product launches.
In addition to holding the CFA charter, Ms. Amladi received her M.B.A. via graduate-scholarship, magna cum laude, from Miami University, Oxford, OH, in 1992, with a concentration in Marketing and Finance. In 1990, she received a M.S. degree (Biochemistry) via graduate-scholarship from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH. She also holds a B.S. degree (Biochemistry and Microbiology), First Class with Distinction, from University of Bombay, Bombay, India, 1987.
Ms. Amladi is engaged as a volunteer in charitable work for empowerment of the handicapped and victims of abuse. Additionally she envisioned and was responsible for leading Reliance Capital’s full sponsorship, hosting and organization of its conference for Columbia University’s Investment delegation to India. Reliance Capital is one of the largest mutual funds in India.
